Battery D participation canceled due to low numbers

Our Battery, as a Unit or as Individual members, is available to serve at different events throughout the year. However, we DO have a few requests for potential Event Coordinator "Clients" to understand:

1.

Our "Battery" Events have been discussed at the annual Membership meeting early in the year - these take priority, and Unit members are expected to attend these events and miss others, if a choice must be made by the individual.

2.
Being an Artillery Unit with heavy, expensive guns and equipment, there are multiple logistical considerations that need to be understood -
A. The Economy - Need we say more?? Get out and vote!!!
B. Some sites are just too small to be practical for us to attend with cannon, but we MIGHT be able to do other presentations.
C. Weather plays a very important part in transportation of the guns - winter is NOT cannon season!!
D. This is a hobby, that we all love - but it is EXPENSIVE! We do not get paid to do this, except by the occasional generous donations of some....
E.

Our members live across the Midwest and DO have real jobs - It takes a lot of advanced warning to enable them to plan to travel and attend events.

3. Certain basic considerations go a LONG way in making the event more attractive to our membership:
  A. Historic Importance, Relativity, etc. is a major consideration - we don't do FARB events!
  B. Powder Bounties are always nice - the Boom isn't as loud when we yell it!
  C. Giving us access to bathroom facilities (even IF they are outhouses), straw for bedding and tent insulation, fresh potable water, and firewood are necessities.
  D. FOOD is always appreciated - the better we're fed, the happier we are doing the event!
